I've worked with several types of companies on their websites, social media, and newsletters. It usually involves a blend of me working with the owner to design graphics that fit with their brand and using their wording on social media posts or crafting my own. Generally, each company is trying to launch a new product or feature and we work to increase their reach leading up to and just after the launch.

I wrote, edited, and created the layout for this 10-week crash course for entrepreneurs. It included chapters on business goals, culture, finances, marketing, sales, and more.
The client wanted it written in a breezy, upbeat, conversational tone. |
Sample WritingBusiness Culture
One of our favorite aspects of being small business owners is the ability we have to define our business culture. What exactly do we mean by that? By culture, we’re meaning how people within your business behave and what people outside of your business attach to those behaviors. It includes your vision, what you value, any symbols you gravitate towards, the voice or tone of your communication style, your beliefs and habits. Culture is so important to the implementation of how you run your business on so many levels. Think of your favorite meal. Now consider culture to be less of a seasoning that’s added on top and more like a marinade that permeates every facet of the prepared dish. How are you perceived? Taking an objective look is not easy to do. Often it requires an adjustment in distance or angle. Writer and Civil rights activist, James Baldwin profited personally through his time in France and how the change in surroundings brought clarification to the man from Brooklyn. After finding out exactly who he was, he then came back to America to hold up the reflecting lens for those who were brave enough to look. What method is better for you? Are you able to distance enough from yourself for an objective look or do you need a James Baldwin to hold up a reflecting lens for you? We’d suggest even trying out both methods. |
